 Past Investigations

If you've already read our Bios, you'll see that our members have varied life experiences and backgrounds. We have over 40 years of combined experience in investigating the paranormal. Although our members may have different belief systems regarding this subject, we have a common goal, that is, to find out what's happening in your home or business.

Science Hall UW-Madison

Several people on our team, as former members of a local group, now defunct, were privledged to be part of the first paranormal group to be allowed on campus, to investigate, long suspected, paranormal activity.
They were allowed access to four different buildings on Bascom Hill, one of which was Science Hall, pictured here. The evidence gathered was compelling.

Ohio State Reformatory-Mansfield

The Ohio State Reformatory (OSR), also known as the Mansfield Reformatory, is a historic prison located in Mansfield, Ohio. It was built between 1886 and 1910 and remained in operation until it was closed by court order in 1990. The Prison’s East Cell Block remains the largest free standing steel cell block in the world at six tiers high. It was also the location where the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed. More germanely, it is reputed to be very haunted.

I and several members of my former paranormal research group spent an evening investigating this infamous location. The Prison facility is enormous and depending on the size of the group investigating, can be very difficult to investigate without evidentiary contamination.

Before our investigation, a Prison caretaker recounted encountering on several occasions the spirit of a former Warden’s wife, who had been accidentally killed in her civilian residence inside the Prison grounds when a loaded gun fell from a cabinet she was cleaning and discharged.  The caretaker also told of a spirit of a former inmate who had burned himself alive in his cell. Another instance he regaled us with was his brush with a prison trustee from long ago who, upon making eye contact with him, promptly walked into a wall.

I and two (2) other members (amongst other smaller groups) spanned the grounds of the facility trying to contact these spirits, which included an EVP session in the very cell that the former inmate had burned himself alive in.  Needless to say, it was disconcerting climbing to his fifth floor cell on this very tall rickety cell block protected only by a rusted pipe railing and then to ask him questions in this virtually pitch black environment.

Ultimately, we were unable to record any conclusive evidence and had no dramatic experiences (other than with some bats). However, one got the sense that there was something there lurking and waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.
